-A new mold inhibitor without impact on feed palatability


Overview of mold inhibitor

In order to decrease feed additive’s impact on feed palatability, research for several years ,the company launched a new mold inhibitor without influence on the feed palatability-Kemeiling.

The influence of mold inhibitor on the palatability of piglets feed 

In order to examine mold inhibitor’s impact on the feed palatability in details, the company specially entrusted Chongqing Academy of Animal Sciences to carry out the comparison experiment over piglet’s feed intake. The experiment used the 30-day “Duroc*Landrace* Yorkshire” weaning piglets as the experimental objects, which have been divided into 3 groups, of which, group 1 added “Kemeiling Type II” 500g/t feed, group 2 added market available “complex organic acid” 1000g/t feed, and group 3 were used as the comparison, each group has 3 repeats, each repeat has 11 heads, 99 heads in total with female and male each half and grouping in random. The experiment period started on 30-day and ended on 60-day. The experiment results are as follows:

Unit: Kg, g/head/day. The results showed that feed intake volume of the group with common mold inhibitor “Organic acid type” is 5.15% and 5.27% lower than the groups “Kemeiling Type II” and “Comparison” respectively, which all have reached the significant level (P0.05, while the differencebetween “Kemeiling Type II” group and “Comparison” group, stating that “Kemeiling Type II” nearly has no impact on the feed palatability.


Material composition

     Sorbic acid and its salts, SDA(sodium diacetate) and natural essential oil.

Main features

 ★It can effectively avoid the moldin feed. It has the advantages such as antimicrobial function, dual features of touch killing, fumigation and excellent inhibit mold function. 

★It has no impact on the feed palatability. It overcomes the defects such as the certain stimulation and corrosion of the common mold inhibitor(propionicacid, propionate, fumarate and DMF ), those chemical substances will have significant impact on the feed palatability.

★Few added volume and high price-quality-ratio. The common mold inhibitor will be used 1000-2000g/t feed, which is a huge volume and a high cost; our mold inhibitor only needs 300-700g/t feed so that it can effectively prevent the mold. Its additive cost is low while the price-quality-ratio is high.

★ It has a good thermostability and stability. Its inhibit mold performance can reach over 98% after wet heating for 10 min. under 90℃.

★It is safe, efficient and easy to add with a good fluidity.

Use method, dosage and matters need attention

Firstly, it shall use a small amount of raw material to gradually amplify and premix, then directly mix evenly. The volume shall take the moisture in feed, air relative moisture, environment temperature, feed’s fluidity and storage time into consideration, and regulate the volume appropriately, the agent can be added as appropriate in reference to the table below.
